Hosea 6:6
6 [God speaking] For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,
Zechariah 7:9-10
9 This is what the Lord Almighty said: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.'
Isaiah 1:17
17 [God speaking] Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
Jeremiah 22:3
3 This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.
Malachi 3:5
5 [God speaking] So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,
says the Lord Almighty.
Zechariah 8:16-17
16 [God speaking] These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; 17 do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,
declares the Lord.
Swearing falsely [in God]
- Does not mean no cussing.
It means Do not tell people you believe in God, and then do not obey God.
God hates this.
Adulterers
- Forget about man-made government regulated marriage,
and go back to God's original version of marriage (before Moses ended God's version 3,000 years ago by allowing divorce for any reason.) Under God's original marriage, the first time two people had sex they were automatically married
forever. They could never have sex with another human for the rest of their lives.
God did this to cut down on the spreading germ pool, which Satan was counting on for wiping out the human race, thus winning the game for Satan. God wanted to win the game over Satan, so God said only have sex with one person forever, and deal with it.
If you have sex outside of your personal God sanctioned
marriage, then you commit adultery. Adultery made it into God's top ten list (Ten Commandments.)
Those who defraud laborers of their wages
- Demands for wages enough for sustenance (staying alive.)
Seek justice
and Administer true justice
- God's version of justice is vastly different than human justice (read Ezekiel 33 for God's version.) Human justice is based on punishment for sins. God's version of justice is based only on ending the sinning with repentance and remorse, in which case God forgives the sinner completely, no punishment. If a person is not remorseful and does not turn away from their evil ways,
then God does his wrath. Not the humans. Wrath is only God's doing. Humans must do mercy.
This seemingly creates a get out of jail free
card for criminals, denying the victims justice. But God is more focused on winning the game over Satan, and justice for wrongs committed on earth are settled in God's final justice court in heaven anyway, as there is no real way to achieve justice on earth (only partial justice.) Full justice has to wait until heaven. On earth, God only wants us to stop the sinning peacefully, without punishment just creating more mutual sin that we all must atone.
Do not deprive the foreigners among you of justice
and Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner
- God hates walls
and is known for frequently knocking them down to get justice. Not only are we to show kindness to the foreigner, but also make certain they can get justice while they are here.
Defend the oppressed
- Oppression as in a human(s) oppressing another. The bullied, those picked upon, ganged up on, or hated for any reason. It does not matter the reason. If you believe in God, you are to seek out these oppressed people, rescue them, and take up their cause.
Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
- In 80% of the couples that walk into family court, the first thing the judge does is make the children fatherless. In the other 20% of the cases, the children become motherless. In the last thirty years this ratio has remained statistically unchanged. Our prisons are packed with the fatherless. We are to take up their cause while young, to avoid becoming inmates.
Plead the case of the widow
here applies to either gender. Single parents need help, with zealous representation, even in court.
Speak the truth to each other
- In today's times, those who tell the truth are oppressed by those who tell the lies. As if God knew a time would come where saying something as obvious as telling the truth would even become necessary to say?
Do not plot evil against each other
- Republicans verses Democrats, whites verses Blacks, Christians verses Muslims, Christians verses Jews, and the resulting mass shootings among these and many more. Needless bloodshed - and do not shed innocent blood in this place.
For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,
- Another word for mercy
is tolerance.
As in our zero-tolerance policy for children, zero-tolerance policy for criminals, zero-tolerance policy for just about every aspect of our overly structured lives. Yet God desires mercy at all times. Only God can do wrath. Not humans. We can only do mercy.
Show mercy and compassion to one another.

So, is God woke? If you believe in God, must you also be woke, according to God's words above? Else you are swearing falsely? And God hates all of this?
